  2. On the subject of the Monroe Bypass. I dont think that is going to happen. It has been in the works for more than 20 years. The environmentalist are not going to let that happen. Also some of the key players were dishonest in there impact evaluations.I feel that was a defeating blow to the project.I think a better and cheaper alternative would be to widen 218 and let it be the Monroe Bypass. I know a lot of people would be oppose to that solution because they stand to make a lot of money if the original bypass comes to fruition

    1. Move to Mecklenburg County if you want that. Most of us moved here to get away from that failed concept.

  4. Development of our workforce and transportation are key to attracting new business. Access to public transportation, especially in the City of Monroe to allow potential workers access to the stores and restaurants on 74 for employment as well as educational opportunities. It would be nice to have a quality public park in the Monroe area - the Stallings park is amazing.

  5. To meet the demands of growth, such as water, sewer, and transportation. To improve our older schools. We have spent too much on the western side of our county and neglected the rest of our schools. Adding sidewalks and parks. People need a safe place to exercise outdoors such as walking trails.

    1. The school administration has squandered millions on unnecessary stadiums and wasteful structures that are pretty but not practical.
